Nuno Miranda Ribeiro Norberto Lobo makes different kinds of strings, in electrical and acoustic version vibrate, with João Lobo as his accomplice in drums and percussion. Songs are different, from short, dissonant surprises, with an experimental vibe, to longer psychedelic exploits and acoustic "Norberto sounding" songs with percussion and voice that give them another athmosphere. And some other moments, unfamiliar to Norberto's earlier work, solo or with Tigrala. And really good to discover. A pearl of 2013. Favorite track: Musgo na Voz.

about

Norberto Lobo Portugal

Norberto’s case is that of the artist-illusionist that suggests a ground zero for tradition, conjuring several ghosts while leaving them at his door step. It appears that he’s single-handedly changing the relationship between Portuguese music and the guitar. His playing doesn't get insular nor does he try to hide his many influences - yet you feel like you’ve been exorcized just by listening. ... more
